Eve has been practicing yoga for 25 years. Initially
drawn to it for relief from chronic back pain following a childhood horseback riding injury, she has grown to view yoga as an exploration of the nature of life and
what it is to be a human being; to see ourselves truthfully, discover what is important to us, and weave that insight into
the way we live our lives. In 2001, Eve began teaching classes for actors at theatre companies and studios in New York City. Since then,
she completed a two-year teacher-training program at the Iyengar Institute of New York, earned a national certification from
IYNAUS (Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States) at the Junior Intermediate Two level, and founded of
The Nerve of Expression, a community project offering yoga to artists with multiple sclerosis. She now teaches at The
Iyengar Institute, Yogasana Center, Samamkaya Backcare Center for Backcare and Scoliosis Collective, Yogaworks, and privately.
In
June of 2006, Eve traveled to Pune, India to study with BKS Iyengar, his daughter Geeta, and son Prashant. Since then, she
has returned every other year to develop her practice and assist in the medical classes there. Eve also continues her studies
with James Murphy, whom she also assists, along with Brooke Myers, in the Specific Needs class at the Iyengar Institute of
New York. She studied for many years with Mary Dunn, Kevin Gardiner, and Lara Warren.
Eve has worked as an actor
and producer on the Broadway stage, in the film and television industry, and in regional theatres throughout America. She
studied acting at Northwestern University, The British American Drama Academy, and The Old Globe Theatre.
Eve
strives to communicate the possibility of being effortful without aggression, of embodying the depth our ourselves without
strain.
